The team behind EIST

We have brought together a team of experienced and passionate educators.

Our highly-qualified teachers have been carefully selected because of their experience and expertise. Between them they have a collective experience schools across the globe. All of our teachers hold a university degree as well as a teaching qualification. Many of our teachers have gone on to take further qualifications to ensure that they have stayed up to date with teaching and learning. They have taught in various parts of the world. Our class teachers in primary and core subject teachers in secondary are all native speakers.

We are very aware that learning is often relational and emotional as well as a cognitive process. As such our experienced and well-qualified teachers take time to build positive student-teacher relationships and we have a whole school focus on wellbeing.

Rebecca Grace Jackson
Head of EYFS and Primary Year 3 Teacher

Ms Rebecca has been working in education and with young people for 14 years. She has a background and specialism in both primary mathematics and special educational needs and is currently completing her master's degree in Social, Emotional and Mental Health. She has previously worked as a teacher with leadership roles in mathematics, PSHE, safeguarding and computing in various schools across the world, including those in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Ukraine and here in Tunisia. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, running and spending time with her two rescue dogs as well as engaging in international projects to promote the welfare of animals.

Jacqueline Johnson
Head of Secondary Maths Teacher

=Ms. Jacqueline is an accomplished mathematics educator with over a decade of experience in UK secondary schools and colleges. She holds a degree in Statistics and Mathematics and a postgraduate diploma in Mathematics with Numeracy and Special Education, equipping her with a unique ability to support diverse learning needs. Currently pursuing a pre-PhD in Educational Research, Ms. Jacqueline is committed to staying at the forefront of innovative teaching practices. As a published author, she brings creativity and inclusivity into the classroom, making mathematics engaging and accessible for all students. Her passion, expertise, and inspiring teaching style empower students to build confidence and excel in their educational journey.

Imen Ben Abderrahmen
IT & Network manager

Ms Imen is currently in charge of IT and Network operations at EIST, overseeing different aspects of the institution’s tech infrastructure. With a background in software engineering and over 5 years of experience across diverse tech stacks, she has contributed to multiple projects in various contexts, co-founded businesses and led technical strategies. Her expertise in optimising IT processes and delivering impactful, data-driven software solutions supports agile collaboration and ensures seamless integration of technology with organisational goals.

Hanen Djebbi
Purchase and Office Manager

Ms Hanen is our purchase and office manager with six years of experience in the purchase department. She has a master degree in Biochemistry and License in quality control. She is passionate and dedicated to her work. Furthermore, she has a great quality in adjusting very well in every work space, and she has a good relationship with all of her colleagues.

Hamida Boutrif
Administrative Head of Primary

Mrs Hamida boasts over 35 years' experience in the education field, having worked as both a teacher and a school director. Equipped with a certificate in pedagogical consulting, she has conducted extensive research in psychopedagogy and spearheaded numerous educational progress programmes. Her leadership extends across diverse sectors, having successfully navigated the Tunisian private system, the French system, the public system, and the English system.

Hideya Kalboussi
School Nurse

Ms Hideya is a dedicated paediatrics nurse responsible for ensuring the well-being of children during school hours, prioritising their safety and health in every situation. With two years of experience, having worked at the Children’s Hospital of Tunis. Graduated from the high school of Health. She has a master degree in Genetics and metabolic diseases and specialising in resuscitation and first aid. Ms Hideya has a deep understanding that taking care of children is a significant responsibility, requiring careful attention.

Mohamed Ali Ben Lamine
Librarian

Mr Mohamed Ali works with children when they come to the library - assisting them in their choice of books and assisting the teachers by working with different groups of children when they are reading. Mr Mohamed Ali has a Degree in English Language, Literature and Civilisation. Mr Mohamed Ali has previously worked as an English tutor and joined us after spending 4 years in various roles at a private school in Tunisia.

Molka Ben Tahar
School Liaison Manager

Molka studied English and then completed a Master's in Marketing and Communication. She worked for 3 years at an international Cambridge school, which allowed her to gain experience in the world of international education. Her role as a liaison manager further enhanced her communication skills especially that she carries with her a deep passion for education and a love for children.

Sonia Ben Ammar
Admission Manager

Ms Sonia has a background in Marketing and Communication, she has a master degree in international trade. She is committed to ensuring a smooth and welcoming admissions process for all prospective students at EIST, which offers a global perspective, academic excellence, and a supportive environment. Ms Sonia looks forward to helping families discover the enriching educational journey that awaits their children within EIST's diverse and vibrant community.

Samiha Kallel
Administrative Head of Secondary and Arabic Teacher

Throughout her 24-year career as an Arabic language teacher in diverse educational settings, including Tunisian, French, and international schools, Mrs Samiha Kallel has demonstrated remarkable adaptability and a deep commitment to student well-being. Her experience extends beyond the classroom, with roles as an educational adviser and department head. Currently, she works at EIST, where her leadership continues to shape the educational process.

Ibtihel Tayari
Arabic Teacher

Ms Ibtihel is an Arabic teacher with 5 years of experience teaching both primary and secondary students, she holds a Master's degree in Arabic Civilisation and Religious Studies from Carthage University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Sousse University in Tunisia, she holds a Certificate to teach Arabic to non-native speakers, she is passionate about sharing her love for the Arabic language. Ms Ibtihel is dedicated to inspiring her students to appreciate the richness of Arabic culture and literature. Outside the classroom, she enjoys singing, swimming and writing books. Her diverse interests reflect her creative spirit and commitment to personal growth, which she encourages in her students.

Nesrine Hammami
Arabic Teacher

Ms.Nessrine is an Arabic teacher at EIST. She holds a Master's degree in Islamic Finance and a degree in Arabic and Islamic Civilisation. She has also obtained various training and certificates in teaching, creative education, languages, and PNL. With 7 years of teaching experience, she has taught several subjects, including Arabic, P.S.H.C.E, and Islamic Studies. Ms.Nesrine is fluent in four languages: Arabic, English, Italian, and French. Ms.Nessrine loves teaching because it is a vast field for creativity and an opportunity to inspire students to think creatively. She believes that every child is unique and has infinite potential. Ms. Nessrine enjoys working with children, encouraging them to believe in their abilities, explore and achieve their goals. In her spare time, she enjoys practising sports, reading books, drawing, and supporting animal welfare.

Maryem Oueslaty
French Teacher

Ms Maryem has done Scientific training with a master's degree in life and earth sciences and a research master's degree in genetics and bioresources, 4 years of experience in a Tunisian private high school as an SVT teacher and one year of experience in a Canadian primary school as a teacher of French, Social Sciences and Mathematics. Has some experience in a French school and joined our team a year ago as a French as a Foreign Language (FLE) teacher. Having previously taught from primary through to secondary school, Ms Maryem is able to adapt to different age groups and engage students’ attention in class effectively.

Eya Chanoufi
French Teacher

Madame Eya is a French teacher with over 10 years of experience in various sectors of French education. She has taught French at all levels, from basic instruction with primary, middle, and high school students in Tunisia, to teaching communication techniques in French at a private engineering school. She is also a member of the teaching team at EITS as a FLE teacher, where she applies her expertise to support her students. With her academic specialisation in French linguistics and her diverse professional background, she has developed an impressive ability to adapt to different educational environments. Passionate about nature and sports, she incorporates these interests into her teaching approach, encouraging her students to embrace values such as commitment and discipline.

Lisamarie Murphy
Early Years Teacher

Ms Lisa has over 20 years experience working in EYFS and a few years working in leadership roles. She has her qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education. She is from Glasgow, Scotland and has lived in Tunisia for over 8 years. Ms Lisa has worked in other International schools in Tunis and in Qatar, as well as Scotland. She has over 20 years experience working in EYFS and a few years working in leadership roles. Ms Lisa thinks that EYFS is just a wonderful age group, full of energy and so much imagination, it really is the best age group to get to work with every day!

Yosra Baccar
ICT Teacher

Ms Yosra is experienced in teaching IT and performing engineering tasks in web and development IT throughout her professional career. She graduated in the IT 'A' Level from Westminster College and also has some international qualifications, including the First Certificate in English Language and the IELTS: International English Language Testing System.

Elaine Williams-Bilson
Year 1 Teacher

With over 25 years experience as a teacher and educator, Ms Elaine has worked with children aged 0 to 14 years in schools across Jamaica, England and now Tunisia. She has held middle leadership roles in primary and managerial roles in early years settings. She is dedicated to helping children achieve their full potential. She is also passionate about fostering equality and diversity and is committed to creating inclusive learning environments. Outside of education, Ms Elaine enjoys nature and the Arts.

Christopher Burns
PE Teacher

Mr Chris is an experienced physical education and humanities teacher from England. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Bolton. Chris moved to the USA in 2002 and co-founded English Premier Soccer Camps and Clinics in Massachusetts where he was Head of Coaching. Chris has since embarked on a teaching career, working in a variety of roles in diverse locations including Egypt, Jordan, Montenegro, Albania, the UAE, the UK, and now Tunisia. Outside of teaching, Chris has worked as a sports reporter and wrote match analysis for the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. Chris has 2 children who are both enrolled at EIST.

Hajer Baccouchi
History, Geography, and EAL Teacher

Ms Hajer is our history, geography, and EAL teacher. She is currently pursuing her PhD in historiography. She has a master’s degree in English and historiographical studies and a major in political sciences from Science Po Paris. She is passionate about teaching using creative methods, and she has a love for humans, which is, she believes the essence of a teaching experience. She taught in different countries, and she is excited to teach at EIST. Furthermore, she is also a part-time drummer.

Charlotte Braun
Year 4 Teacher

Miss Charlotte Braun holds a degree in European Primary Education and brings extensive experience from both public and international schools in Germany and Britain. Passionate about fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments, Miss Charlotte emphasises differentiation to meet each student’s unique needs. She is dedicated to cross-curricular learning, finding creative ways to integrate subjects and inspire curiosity across disciplines. She has a strong interest in diverse cultures and languages, and enjoys reading, travelling and food.

James Slater
Year 2 Teacher

Mr James started in education as an EAL teacher, an outdoor activity instructor and a teaching assistant before becoming a primary teacher. He holds a degree in geology and has an interest in all aspects of science. He is an adventurous person and has travelled, hiked and camped all over the world, including Greenland and Tajikistan. Mr James loves to learn about new cultures, reading, kickboxing, writing and photography.

Marwa chamam
Science Teacher & Lab manager

Ms. Marwa is a dedicated Biology, Chemistry and Physics teacher at the English International School of Tunis, teaching students from Year 7 to Year 10, including IGCSE candidates. With over 7 years of experience across International Schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her teaching. As an engineer, she was accepted as a PhD student in an English-taught program at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, in 2017, where she further developed her scientific expertise. Combining her engineering background with a creative, engaging approach to teaching, Ms. Marwa has helped students achieve outstanding results, including perfect scores in the Year 9 Cambridge Checkpoint assessments.

Joanne Butcher
Year 2B Teacher

Ms Jo discovered her passion for educating children when travelling in the Middle East after completing her degree. After finishing her PGCE at the University of Cambridge, she has worked in many UK schools but most recently in a diverse inner city outstanding primary in the North of England. There she has helped train and develop many student teachers and was the phonics lead. She looks forward to the new experiences that working in an international school will provide. In her spare time, she loves running and mountain walking with her 3 grown-up children.

Ruth Louka
Year 5 Teacher

Ms Ruth is a passionate primary teacher with 20 years of experience. Holding a PGCE from the University of Cumbria, a QTS and a CELTA, she transitioned from a background in Accounting and Business to teaching. Her career has taken her across Egypt, the UK, Montenegro, Jordan, UAE and Tunisia. Ms Ruth finds immense joy in seeing her students progress and embraces new educational methods. She is also a mother of two children, both enrolled at the school. Outside of teaching, Ms. Ruth enjoys travelling and exploring different cultures, which enriches her approach to education.

Raphaël Sarker
Year 6 Teacher

Raphaël Sarker is a primary computing specialist who completed his bachelor of education degree at Froebel College in London, specialising in computer- and game-based learning systems, before working as a class teacher and computing leader in schools around London and the southwest. Having lived in Europe and Asia, he enjoys travelling and working in the international sector. At Club Med, he taught skiing and scuba diving, and sailed Laser and Zodiac dinghies with 7-11 year olds, going on to travel around Asia, working with businesses and NGOs on multimedia projects supporting primary and adult education, as well as health and environmental education projects.

Abir Nasri
English and Literature Educator

Ms. Abir is an English and Literature educator with a master’s degree in English Literature and over three years of experience in international education. She has taught both lower and upper secondary levels, including classes preparing for international examinations. A passionate advocate for integrating humanitarian values into education, she creates an environment that encourages critical thinking, empathy, and social responsibility among her students. As the head of the Creative Writing and Literature Club, she fosters creativity and individuality, guiding young minds toward well-rounded development and empowering independent thinking. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, writing, painting, and photography.

Yoldez Zoulali
Art and Design Teacher

Ms . Yoldez Zoulali is a distinguished art and design educator with a background in product design and a passion for fostering creativity. A graduate of ESSTED with over two years of teaching experience, she has contributed to renowned institutions such as the Istanbul American School, Küçük DehalarAkademisi Isparta. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Ms Yoldez captivates students through innovative, hands-on instruction, encouraging exploration across diverse artistic mediums. Beyond the classroom, she creates jewellery, leads polymer clay workshops, and has broad experience in event organisation and design, showcasing her adaptability and visionary approach to creative environments.

Thamer Abdellaoui
Year 5 Teacher Assistant

Mr Thamer has a deep passion for English literature. With a master's degree, he spent three fulfilling years teaching English to middle school students in years 7, 8, and 9. Additionally, he broadened his horizons by working as an ESL tutor for adults. Growing up in a household of educators, where both his parents are teachers, ignited his lifelong dream of becoming a teacher himself. In another enriching chapter, he spent two years working in an international school, where he further honed his skills and built an amazing experience in the dynamic environment of an international education setting.

Iman Mansouri
Teacher Assistant

Ms Iman has a Degree in English literature and Civilisation and a UK Early years teaching qualification, a sounds-write phonics training from Uk, a Certificate in Human Rights and Cinematographic Techniques. She is currently studying for a certificate in special education needs. Ms Imen previously worked as an EYFS and and Primary teacher at other international schools in Tunisia. Ms Iman is a keen photographer.

Tasneem Ahmed Saleh
Teaching Assistant

Tasneem holds a Bachelor's degree in English and has Pre-CELTA and PCELT teaching certifications. She has taught in Libyan schools and worked with the Norwegian Refugee Council, teaching English to refugees. Additionally, she has experience as an online English teacher in Tunis. Tasneem enjoys travelling, which enhances her cultural awareness, as well as swimming and painting. These hobbies contribute to her well-rounded personality and bring creativity and enthusiasm to her teaching.

Dhouha Majeri
Teaching Assistant

Ms Dhouha is a teaching assistant at EIST. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Certified in general english by both Amideast and British council, her multilingual skills allow her to connect with a diverse range of students and adapt her teaching approach to meet their individual needs. Over the past three years, she has cultivated extensive tutoring experience, guiding and mentoring students between the ages of four and eighteen. She finds great fulfilment in inspiring young minds, helping them to develop both academic skills and a broader appreciation for creative expression and critical thinking.

Wided Sherif
Teaching Assistant

Ms Wided is an IT engineering graduate. She worked five years as a development software engineer in an international company. She switched careers to go into teaching. Likewise, she is passionate about teaching, and she loves helping students to learn and grow. In her space time, she loves cycling and photography.

Nada Rezgui
Teaching Assistant

Ms. Nada is a passionate educator with six years of teaching experience, including four years in international schools. She holds a degree in English Language, Literature, and Civilization and is working on her master’s thesis in linguistics. She specializes in supporting students with diverse learning needs through adaptive teaching methods. After gaining valuable skills in an international recycling company for two years, she realised that her true passion lies in teaching and working with children, helping them learn and grow. This inspired her to pursue a career in teaching. Ms. Nada is also passionate about volunteering, art, and photography, which nurture her creativity and community connections.
